Auto Technician Training Success

Congratulations to Reginald Norris on completing the  New Community’s Automotive Technician Training Program supported by CareerWorks Greater Newark Funders Collaborative. Prior to training, Reginald, age 23, of Newark was not optimistic about his prospects after different jobs at a supermarket and Amazon distribution center. He fulfilled the 1,200 hour program requirements for graduation and has landed a full-time auto mechanic job with Gensinger Volkswagen in Clifton New Jersey.  “It’s probably one of the best things that’s happened to me in a long time,” Reginald said of new work as an automotive technician. “At a job like this, you never get bored.” His story is featured in the July 2015 New Community Corporation e-Clarion
